We don't yet know... what steps Apple will use to tie OS X to Mac boxes only and/or prevent it from working if installed on non-Apple boxes.

That's kinda true: we don't know what Apple will do, exactly. We do, however, know what techniques are at their disposal. Suffice to say that OSX will continue to run in Beige World...

Rumors that Apple will include special hardware dongles and mate the OS to them make sense.

Here's hoping! That kind of technique takes about 8 seconds to crack.

Apple has plenty of avenues to try and lock Mac OS to Mac-manufactured boxes that doesn't block Windows from being installed on them.

For sure. Windows on Apple hardware and OSX on generic hardware are orthogonal issues.
