I actually think that the selling is largely self-referential. It comes out of the blue just like the buying does. It can continue for a long time with no basis in reality if the manipulation nets enough shares to be bought on the cheap. The only possible counterbalance would be news and I wouldn't expect any until next week at the earliest.
