Shares of OPKO Health Inc fell 1.44 percent to $7.50 on Tuesday afternoon. On the options front, it appears an investor bought 14,000 September $6 strike calls on the Miami, Florida-based biopharmaceutical and diagnostics company for $1.55 per contract.

The trade appears to be a new position and not tied to stock, said WhatsTrading.com options strategist Frederic Ruffy. The August $7 and September $5 strike calls are the next most popular in the name. Overall option volume on OPKO is 2.9 times the recent daily average with 22,000 calls and 1,068 puts traded on Tuesday afternoon, according to Trade Alert. "It's not clear what is motivating the interest in the stock today, as there are no immediate headlines on the ticker," Ruffy said. OPKO shares have gained 56.1 percent so far in 2013.
