STP News: Online Tela Non adds some interesting quotes from PM and Oil Commission chief Carlos Neves:

PM Silveira: "The govt was called to give some information and that's what we did. We still don't have a definitive position (on the AG's report). We are carefully analyzing the situation and we will later make our position public."

Neves: "For us, what was most important was to see the status of the (awards) dossier, the negotiations, and see with the govt how one could most quickly move forward with the production sharing contracts that are under way. It's important to us, and we took care to make public that all questions raised in the wake of the (AG's) report had nothing to do in relation to Nigeria, which is a friendly country with whom we want to maintain the best relations. This has more to do with internal issues of our country."

Note: The MLSTP govt finds itself between a rock and a hard place, imo, having bitterly criticized Pres Menezes for signing the JDZ awards and now finding itself in the ungrateful position of having to bless them.

I look forward to reading your inputs in morn.

G'nite,
