Health care CIOs call for extension of stages 2 and 3 MU

CIOs testifying before the HIT Policy Committee's workgroups on Tuesday echoed recent calls by CHIME to delay stages 2 and 3 of the meaningful use program by one year. The current time frames for those stages could lead to a timing crunch next year when hundreds of thousands of doctors and hospitals are scrambling to achieve meaningful use while preparing for stage 2, they said.
