Although I do not disagree with your position, I have read enough independent articles to believe that all that could and should be done isn't happening. For instance, here in New York, I know for fact that the FD still hasn't been equipped with all that was promised after 911. This information is first hand having been conveyed to me not by politicians, but by fire fighters with whom I have worked post 911.
