Last week, both President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder called into question, stand your ground self defense laws. And yesterday (7/21/13), on CNN’s “State of the Union”, Senator John McCain threw in his two cents and sided with Obama:
“The ‘stand your ground’ law may be something that may needs to be reviewed by the Florida legislature or any other legislature that has passed such legislation”
Asked if he thinks Arizona should review the law, McCain said: “Yes, I do. And I’m confident that the members of the Arizona legislature will, because it is very controversial legislation,” he told CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley.
This past Friday (7/19/13) Texas Senator Ted Cruz, speaking to Republicans in Iowa, said:
“It is not surprising that the president uses, it seems, every opportunity that he can to go after our Second Amendment right to bear arms. This president and this administration has a consistent disregard for the Bill of Rights.”
John McCain criticized his fellow Republican Senator and defended Obama when he told CNN:
“I don’t draw that conclusion. Isn’t it time for America to come together? I’d rather have a message of coming together … I respect his view but I don’t, frankly, see the connection. What I got out of the president’s statement, which I thought was very impressive, is that we need to have more conversation in America.”
I’m pretty sure that by “conversation” he means violating the Constitution and taking away your rights. Maybe John McCain is planning to switch sides and become a Democrat? If you live in Arizona, be sure to vote in 2016. It’s time to force John McCain to retire before he can cause any more damage in Washington.
