Humbly report, Bob, time for me to humbly speak up about the CoB concept and my major problem with it.

Picture this situation. The market is hot, and moving fast. The CoB of a thread of a given stock is a pump and dump scammer, an evil, evil man that is very smart, very clever and extremely manipulative. Yes, we do have folks like that here, have run into them, in person. So have you. One such person that is a CoB of a number of threads here is precisely that kind of a slimeball -- you know exactly who I am speaking about, as an example!

Anyway, for example's sake, an extremely important and very relevant post is made on a thread of a fast moving stock in a fast moving market. A post that can mean do or die for people in that stock, reading that thread. The despicable CoB deletes the post, which is, hypothetically speaking, as I said, of earth shaking importance. He/she deletes it instantly. Never mind the excuse for deleting the post -- irrelevant for this hypothetical example. So, the market is moving on. You are at lunch. Or racing, or taking a dump, whatever. By the time you get around to restoring the post -- too late. Tons of money made and lost. Ringy dingy, your phone, lawsuit.

I hope you understand where I am going with this, and hope you will REALLY hear what I have to say now, have already said it once, in agreement with someone else who suggested it on this thread first (forgot who):

The CoB should ONLY have the ability to MARK posts for possible removal by YOU, the admin, PERIOD. Additionally, when a post is removed, the poster MUST be notified of the removal -- at the time of removal, along with receiving the contents of the removed post, so they can SEE what has been removed, and why.

Why do this? As things stand, a post can be removed, and the poster whose post has been removed has no idea it has happened. Not good. Not at all good, especially in the hypothetical situation I outlined above, and double that especially, given the fact that before you came here, removing post willy nilly was the rule, so the evil manipulators have practice. And people must know their post was removed, and must have a chance to repost in a timely fashion, which is why when a post is removed the contents must be sent to the poster in question, so they can quickly edit out whatever may indeed be against the rules, and post again.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Svejk
