My reasoning is pretty straight forward extrapolation of past events.
One, ONVO produces something Pfizer is clearly willing to pay for. Handing out $600,000 is not something done lightly, even by a company with deep pockets like Pfizer. That transaction, from what I can gather, went pretty smoothly.
Second, now that they have demonstrated, to me at least, that Organovo and Pfizer have a working business relationship, expanding on that relationship should be rather seamless and straightforward.
Third, How could Pfizer NOT buy into this technology? Someone surely will. So if not Pfizer, then who? Johnson and Johnson? Boston Scientific? Bayer? Bristol Myers Squib? MERCK? To name just a few possibilities. All or any of which would love to have an unlimited supply of experimental human 3D tissues on demand.
Purely conjecture I admit. But if I were in a position to buy this company at this point in their development, I would in a heartbeat.
Like I said before, they have proven the technology with at least 4 printers running. I just don't see any down side. And the upside boggles my imagination, and I have a very healthy imagination lol.
