The SEC form that investment companies use to file their definitive materials in the SEC's EDGAR filing system. Definitive materials include any piece of information that could be relevant to an investor's decision about buying, selling or keeping their financial share in a company.
Investopedia explains 'SEC Form 497'
Investment companies are required to file definitive materials in accordance with Rule 497 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1933. Examples of definitive materials include proxy statements, prospectus publications, and Statements of Additional Information (SAI).
