I just wanted to say something to all the people expecting contracts. Contracts are not as common place with manufacturing as you might think.

I have worked with CNH, John Deere, and Caterpillar. I also have a friend who makes parts for SE Johnson. He redesigned there machine that make plastic bags easier and with less parts and fewer break downs. He sold them the patent. Although they will always buy these parts from him they are not limited to just him. (no contract)

These companies buy most of there product from subcontractors without contracts. They like the ability to always shop around. I'm Not saying it is totally applicable with spider silk. I'm just saying contracts aren't as common as most people think.
