Boerne's Tootie Pies are sell-out favorites Tootie Pie Co. sells out for Thanksgiving SAN ANTONIO -- A Thanksgiving tradition for many folks in and around San Antonio could be a thing of the past.
Boerne-based Tootie Pie Co. filed for bankruptcy protection last week.
Company officials said even though they have seen a jump in sales from year to year, it just wasn't enough to make loan payments, listing nearly $1 million in debt.
One of the company's main creditors filed a lawsuit claiming the company first failed to make loan payments in October, which is the start of the company's busiest season.
According to new CEO Leslie Doss, this is not necessarily the end for the company. He said this could be a fresh start with new investors showing interest.
