I thought this part of the article was particularly applicable.

Testimonials from early investors help perpetuate the crime. A large pool of money needs to be recruited constantly. People already invested in the scheme lend credibility to the investment scam.

Secondly, the case shows a stunning lack of due diligence on the part of investors.



Seems to be the MO for most penny stock scams.

"Investors" may disagree but proper "due diligence" does not entail believing stinky pinky PRs or management leaks to select shareholders. It does involve verifying, via unbiased sources, everything that a stinky pinky publishes.

Never trust (a stinky pinky), always verify.
