In my view, if any well in Namibia hits, HRT will sell the Brazilian assets to Rosneft or Petrobras, and focus solely on developing the OIL rich frontier, in which they are a leader.
They will need funds in order to not give away too much equity/ownership when developing this Enormous Region.
That is my business take away. Negotiate from a position of strength, rather than weakness. And no you can go it alone (albeit more slowly) if the right partnership or JV deals don't come together.
$500M or $750M would go a long ways in proving up several more reservoirs in Namibia.
Let's hope this is the case, for the recent strategic planning.
