I've never asked my dog's opinion, but my observations are the following:

He(Rottweiler - Aussie Shepherd mix)is about 13 years old and suffering from hearing and joint problems. He seldom responds except to shouting. (I don't want to use the 2x4 to get his attention. That's reserved for the mule.) He has trouble getting up, and lying down looks more like falling.

He prefers the flavored to the plain Anatabloc, but now eats either willingly. He chews them, rather than allowing them to dissolve in his mouth. It surprised me that he always chews rather than just swallowing them whole.

I started by giving him one in the morning, added a second one in the evening after a while and now try to remember to give him 2 each time. He gets the morning ones every day, but sometimes I skip the evening ones.

He has begun playing with a frequent visitor - a young Pomeranian. They explore the farm and run everywhere.

His favorite thing is to lead the way when I drive the golf cart. He runs in from of me and tries to guess whether to turn at the workshop, or go to the barn, the house or the mailbox.

He still takes a running start to lie down on the couch, but I think it's habit now rather than necessity. Getting up and down from the floor is much improved. I hardly ever hear a 'thump'.

Of course, he's read all the positive posts on this forum and it's really the placebo effect, but who cares? It's working.
