Thanks, appreciate the links. The NEPA EA is something I am familiar with, having done a few. According to this one, the most toxic materials they had were fuels.

I seem to recall mention of a 43-101 report or some kind of technical report for the mine. It would be interesting to see that link if you have it. I have always wondered why folks spend so much money to mine placer gold based on poor or nonexistent data (actually, it is not that much of a mystery - they are counting on the gold coming from their investors, not from the ground).
