My tranny blew up...

my buddy had sold his '69 Charger to a guy who blew the motor up. He knew it sat dead on the side of his garage and he also knew it had a Hemi transmission in it that would bolt right up to my '68 Chrysler.

Told me to offer him $100 bucks to take away the dead Charger. Said he would help me put the trans in my car and as payment, he got the Charger.

What a deal.

But wait, there's more!

My buddy had another friend who was at the transmission school in Wyoming.

Asked them if they wanted a class project.

Yep, my Hemi trans went to Wyoming. Re-built at no charge.

Only glitch came on the install, when I dropped the crossmember on my mouth knocking out my front tooth.

That was a really cool addition to my first car. Automatic transmission that chirped the tires from first to second gear.

Had a 383 c.i. with a 2-barrel. Top end was 128MPH.
