Have you actually looked into pyrolysis? There is 50 plus years of people doing it with companies like BP sinking many millions in with masses of scientists in the field doing the work. There is nothing new in it. Before that even refining has probably 100X as much research and money put into it. It is like saying somebody invented a new hamburger.
