USB is CPU dependent whereas FW is not.

Communication between devices that have no CPUs, FW is the better choice. People are just reading too much into the iPods have going USB. There are tens of millions of camcorder out there that uses FW. No one can convince me that it is dying until I see SJ physically put it in a coffin on stage at WWDC.
