It should be of interest to all concerned that via Webber (who is in Santo Domingo) that under the new Minister of Culture, there will be no further treasure hunting salvage contracts issued. Even with those currently holding active contracts, at the end of their durations, they will not be renewed. That is the intent. As MEI never actually had a contract (it was Webber's) and that expired over a year ago, its all now history. MEI better make it on water makers or perhaps some new innovation in vacuum cleaners because it sure isn't going to be on treasure. As for the good old "Hispaniola", she's still tied to the dock with hull deterioration progressing and legal consequences mounting.
