Digital Utilities Ventures selects Amino STBs for IP-based New Last Mile video transport solution
Announced Date: 7/28/2009 Published Date: 7/28/2009
Digital Utilities Ventures, a provider of IP-based video transport systems via its New Last Mile Platform, has announced that it has selected Amino Communications as set-top box manufacturer for its IPTV delivery system.
The New Last Mile uses an Internet based platform to deliver TV programming and enables Digital Utilities Ventures (DUTV) to deliver live programming of broadcast quality from anywhere over the Internet.
Specifically, the platform allows delivery of TV content to:
TV sets without the aid of a PC by piggybacking on existing broadband connections.
Cell phones worldwide via WiFi, Mobile Telephone Switching Office (MTSO) 3G networks, and next generation 4G WIMAX.
The system utilises less than 1 Mbit of bandwidth to the TV and 150 Kbit of bandwidth to the cell phone to create a global 'Virtual Cable Television Network'.
