That's also a good way of looking at it. I usually don't hold anything for too long.

But yeah, coming back to your point, say if I am UP quite a bit on a position, after news, I might put a high stop-limit (very close to the current PPS and way above my entry). That way if it goes UP, its all good. If it by chance dips - I am OUT with my profits.

This is what I would do at least.
