It's not my opinion. It's the protocol for the dose escalation for the study. The lowest dose escalation is 50%, so minimum escalation for Cohort 3 is to 45mg/m2. There is nothing wrong with projecting forward at the minimum dose for all future cohorts to get an idea of the maximum number of cohorts to get to the high efficacy doses demonstrated in mouse studies.

After all, back in November the management actually PRed a projected end date for dosing as June 2013. Management did not take into account the time to recruit, screen, and receive permissions between cohorts. At least now we know the study is at least another 6 months out if all goes well, and possibly 12 months if all goes exceptionally well.

One thing I discovered about cancer trials, faster is not better. In fact, it's exactly the opposite. Best case scenario: preliminary data will not ready for 12 more months.
