In my 34 years in the pharma industry, I can tell you, it is all about ease of administration. Taking a pill might seem like an easy way to take a med, but for those who can't take pills, any alternative is favored. Yes, managed care does prefer generics across the board. However, depending on what the med is for, patients will pay whatever price to get the results they want. For ED, price is not a question. A multi-billion ED dollar market proves this to be true.
