Explorer are to some extent the startup companies in the commodity world. Explore the mineral deposits from which even after many years to be a production. And they do not need much: an office, the exploration licenses for suitable land (which in many countries for a few thousand euros from the government to get) and a bit of equipment for field sensing range for the first start. Consequently, such Explorer often have a tiny market capitalization (number of shares multiplied by the share price) of a few million EUR. Compared with the weight of Newmont Mining (21.91 billion USD) which is less than a flea, but rather a single cell.
