Bird-splitter, I liked your recent YMB summation; i.e.

New technology to be announced second half, I believe this is a Summer accumulation hoping for larger growth next year..... Dead money for a while longer IMO... FSYS YMB 6/8/2013

I expect the new technology introduced late in 2013 to be LPG Direct Injection for the Volkswagen TSI and TFSI engines (see: http://gazeo.eu/up-to-date/reportages-interviews-road-tests/reportages-and-interviews/The-premieres-of-GasShow-2013,report,6778.html ).

The company's focus upon the LPG Direct Injection System has been highlighted in the two recent CC's.

On Mar 8 2013 during the Q4 CC, Timothy Standke FSYS' Chief Technology Officer stated:

On the technology side, automakers are moving away from port injection to direct injection. To keep in step with the market and maintain Fuel Systems’ position as a front-runner in providing this technology to OEMs, Fuel Systems has invested in the development of LPG direct injection technology for the automotive market. Our system is now in pilot production and we are testing it in select markets to ensure performance across a wide variety of conditions. We expect to commercially launch it in the second half of 2013. At the same time, leveraging our innovation in LPG direct injection technology, we are working on a new generation of low-cost CNG injectors. These will help BRC and our other brands appeal to the more cost-conscious user.

On May 8 2013 during the Q1 CC, Mariano Costamagna FSYS' CEO stated:

The new LDI system will help us to improving our position in the delayed-OEM and the OEM market. It is very interesting project. We work for two years – investing in two years in our main power is in our technologies in order to create this product. We expect from this product very soon and a good increase in our delayed-OEM or OEM market.

and Pietro Bersani FSYS' CFO stated:

we don’t have to forget what will be the impact, especially for the next year from the adoption of the liquid in direct injection especially from an important Asian OEM.
