I think we've gone over this before. AMD increased its model number and went backwards in frequency, allowing their limited edition 2800+ TBred to outperform their shiny new 3000+ Barton in several tests. The model numbers are arbitrary at this point. It's all marketing. In terms of actual manufacturable binsplits, neither company has made much headway in the past few months. Even so, demand doesn't shift from brand to brand based on a couple of different speed grades. So for the most part, this discussion is moot. Both companies are doing close to what their process allows. Anything in the future are going to be minute tweaks on a mature design.

AMD needs to get to Hammer.

Intel needs to get to Prescott.
