Does anyone know when we go to court with ZTE?

Here are key dates relative to VRNG. Several ZTE-related items are included. Hope this helps...

All post-trial motions are now fully-briefed and, as such, JJ can technically rule on them at any time now. Keep in mind that there is no requirement for JJ to rule within any specified period of time, so in theory the rulings can come down anytime now or they can come down 2 years from now. See SCORECARD thread for details of specific motions.

That being said, the three post-trial motions that are outstanding and "ripe for ruling" that have monetary implications are 822 (Post-Judgment Royalties), 792 (Pre-Judgment Interest and Supplemental Damages) and 809 (Bill of Costs).

GOOG's Principal Brief (as Appellant) due to the US Court of Appeals.
(note that 6/29 is a SAT, so deadline technically would be MON, 7/1)
VRNG's Response (as Appellee) and Principal (as Cross-Appellant) Brief is due 30 days following GOOG's submission.
GOOG's Reply (as Appellant) and Response (as Cross-Appellee) Brief is due 30 days following VRNG's submission.

VRNG's response or Notice of Appeal due to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board re: 420.

VRNG's Responsive Pleading due.
This is related to a separate "Nullity" suit brought by ZTE-Germany re: patent 919, alleging invalidity. Per VRNG's 1Q13 10-Q, VRNG anticipates the trial for this nullity suit to occur during the second half of 2014.


AUGUST 30, 2013
ZTE Rejoinder Brief due in ZTE-Germany case.


OCTOBER 15, 2013
Trial begins for ZTE (Germany) suit.
Note that this is separate from the suit against ZTE (UK).

Awaiting scheduling for invalidity hearing in China on Chinese Patent ZL00812876.6 (equivalent of Euro Patent 589).
Oral hearing re: Chinese Patent ZL200480044232.1 (equivalent of Euro Patent 029) occurred on April 10, 2013 and is still pending.
Oral hearing re: Chinese Patent ZL00806049.5 (equivalent of Euro Patent 919) occurred on May 9, 2013 and is still pending.
FYI, these relate to the invalidity proceedings in China that were initiated by ZTE, presumably as a pre-emptive strike before VRNG could file suits in China.
