Bio, Mabs do not enter cells = safety


The article gets one point VERY wrong.


The drugs are very specific for particular limited targets, since these do not enter the cells but only interact with them; hence they have limited application. Another difficulty faced using mAbs when compared to small molecule drugs is that, they need to be injected.



It is BECAUSE they don't enter the cell that they're not NEARLY as toxic as traditional chemo which DESTROYS the cell. (Hair loss, anyone?)

Bavi has proven to be incredibly safe and effective. Newsflash. This is NOT a "difficulty." It's a bonus, and Bavi's calling card. SAFETY.

Additionally, the "need for injection" point is a red herring. Nearly ALL chemo is given intravenously.
