Loosing a major mine is Chile's loss. Let them stay unemployed and third world. Same garbage happens in Africa and in the Dominican Republic. In fact, it happens in North America too. Tenabo was not "sacred" until they found gold there and groups like Great Basin are nothing but a bunch of crooks looking for a paycheck. I have no doubt this thing in Chile is no different.

Barrick has solid, proven reserves and they know how to get it. Once PV comes online they will have two of the most productive mines in the world. The Goldstrike property is not what it used to be, but it is still productive. Cut the losses overseas and Barrick will be just fine.
