dilleet: Mac to big screen

It would help to know what kind of ports are available on the flat screen. They range from RGB, DVI, to HDMI or a combination of them, varies with manufacturer. Native resolution on most flat screen are about 1280x720 good enough for 780p HD content (1080p reqires 1920x1080 resolution), photos, web surfing etc. I don't know if the Mac Minis can do 780p HD decoding, but if it can the mini will probably suffice. If not, then he might need the G5s or PB. Much of it depends if you can plug the computer's monitor out to the TV. There is an optional adapter for the Mac Mini and iBooks for a S-video or RCA out. Going that route will give you very low quality and resolution video. Not recommended for computer use. Try not to go that route.

Hope that helps.
