i spoke to former chair of mortgage bankers association yesterday, he confirmed Congress intent to liquidate or public float in "next few years" after I questioned in regards to Aug. 2012 Amend Agreement to Sr. Pref shares which encumber exit from conservatorship and if there could be another amend agreement in the works because the high cash flow channel from Fed tit to Congress mouth - "Are they addicted to the money now?" in other words. So... answer, is "no" Fannie will float "next few years".

IMO, this amazing buy trend is whales effort to get price to $5.00 so they can get in AND do so 12 months prior to float date so proceeds will classify long term 15% tax basis instead of short term tax basis.
