First, that is the first mention of "detainment" that I can recall in your posts on the subject -- I could be wrong.

But as to the rest, Ok, we will stick to the teachings of Jesus for now -- How about "love thy neighbor as thyself" and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (just for starters.)

The word for "love" is "agape" which means to seek the highest good for your neighbor. I hardly think that a terrorist is a better "fit" for being your neighbor than the innocents that are the targets of that terrorist. If you seek the good for the innocents, then you will do whatever it takes to protect them from the criminal that is trying to kill them. The same train of thought applies to the golden rule -- if you were the target of terrorists, would you want others to do what they could to save you or would you rather they hug and kiss the terrorist??

One more example would be when Jesus was being crucified, He was between two other criminals who likewise were being crucified, the most prolonged, horrible, and painful death known to man at the time. Jesus never sought to mitigate their pain or to argue that it was wrong to treat them that way.
