You say you would "absolutely" be willing to do whatever was necessary to rescue your family. Good, but I am still curious -- in your mind, are you willing to do so even though you think you are going against God's will or do you think that what you would do is consistent with God's will.
I am trying to get you to think a little deeper about Who God (and by extension, Jesus) is, rather than accept the normal liberal view that Jesus was all about Love and Peace. The problem with that view is not that Jesus does not display and represent Love and Peace perfectly -- He does. The problem comes when the common liberal view totally ignores the rest of what Jesus told us about Himself and what the rest of the Scriptures tell us about both God the Father and Jesus. Liberals prefer to forget that Jesus will be the Judge at the final judgement, and that just like God, He hates sin. Jesus talked more about Hell than any other person in the New Testament, but no one wants to remember that.
To think that God or Jesus would prefer for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of innocent people to die than for one terrorist, complicit in the deed, to be inflicted with some amount of pain in order to gain information necessary to save those people is contrary to Scriptural teaching in my opinion.
