Wash Trades show as Short volume. Hypesters point to short volume as a big squeeze coming "shorty gonna burn!" "Huge Squeeze coming" and on and on but actually Wash Trades are the same shares going around and around in circles from one to the next to the next sure it looks like there is huge volume but actually there has been no accumulation. With hundreds of millions traded 1/2 or more of the volume can be the same 5-10-20 millions share going around and around with those doing the trading owning none of those shares by the end of the trading day. Say you and 5 friends did the same thing with an old car in 1 day. You sold it to the first friend for $1000 he sold it to the next and so on and so on and in the end the last friend sold it to a guy on graigs list. So was there 6 cars sold? No! But there was 6 sales (6 trades) $6000 in sales but none of the 6 friends own that car at the end of the day. That's how wash trades work. IMO
