Yes the biggest problem with this company is John Bordynuik's ex-girlfriend. It is absolutely not:

1) The company cannot produce enough fuel to be viable despite Bordynuik claiming repeatedly they were in commercial production.
2) The fuel they do produce costs so much they cannot be viable. This despite John Bordynuik claiming they can produce fuel for less than $10 per barrel.
3) They claimed they would be CFP in Q1 and missed only by a couple of million dollars.
4) They have no real Board of Directors.
5) They missed the initial one year deadline on appointing those directors.
6) The CEO resigned and the replacement is the COO who is reviled by shareholders.
7) They obfuscated and lied about fuel margins in 2011 and 2012.
8) They are running out of money and will need financing in the next couple of months if you can believe their SEC filings.

Yeah none of those issues are the problem. It is the ex-girlfriend.
