One thought: There has never been a drug that has gone to ASCO and thru the FDA that can target solid tumors safely and effectively as Bavituximab. The closest one has been Avastin.... where Bavi is proving to be more effective and "MUCH" more safer than Avastin. Thats the first thought. Who knew more about Avastin and FDA approvals...? Garnick... Who has him now and why? Peregrine and everyone will know why shortly. This isn't an athlete at the end of his career going where the money is!.... This is a Dr. that was needed to carve out a path thru the FDA... because we know how difficult the FDA can be... and ultimately allow Bavituximab to be placed front and center infront of every solid tumor it can conquer!
Second thought: There has never been a time at ASCO where the medical community gets a glimpse of 109% MOS improvement in NSCLC ... only to see it all vanish due to "coding discrepancies".... and then to come back the following year and still show 60% improvement after a "conservative" combination of placebo/1mg arms... vs the 3mg arm of Bavi. What do you think these doctors are not going to be talking and wondering what the hell happened??? Word spreads quick... and not only will they get the "unofficial" word of what happened.... but now they see the same drug "Bavituximab" with 2 (TWO) other posters for Breast.. and Pancreatic cancer that is again... SAFER.... than Avastin and MORE effective than Avastin.
Third Thought: The medical community is the key in this entire picture..... although we see the likes of AF and others whom can create controversey with a short 200 word article, the scientific minds that will attend ASCO are more finely tuned in realizing the value of Bavi's data--- specifically where it plays well with others(multiple chemo's and other BP's oncology drugs) ... and more importantly.. >>>safety...safety...safety! How many times are we seeing a drug pulled from the market.. pulled from the shelves... or BP's caught up in coverups and fines of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Final Thought.... everyone likes a good mystery, and you think ASCO will not wonder why Bavi is back again?? Of course questions will be asked... eventually, they will also be wondering who did it and held back this drug back for a year.
