I did for years...but got to the point I couldn't pull hard enough to start 'em. Even a Brand-new one!
Not many 'lectric-start tillers out there...
For the last 5 years, I was turning the soil by hand with the pitchfork. (Actually, kinda pushing it in, and 'levering' it to break up the soil,...hoe a row for seeds into it, where ever I needed to put a 'plant'...I'd just trowel a foot around it.
The results were as good as 'tilled-soil'. This year, I just couldn't do it, out of shape. So I got a 'lectric cultivator...worked for 3 days, and it quit. Hoping it was just that one, they gave me another, and $30 off...had it out, and it seems to work fine. On the plus-side, it fits in the front flowerbed, and later I can us it to loosen soil between the rows, even 'narrow' it to 6", by taking the outside blades off.
