Why is GERS' business model so lame? What other startup companies have succeeded at demanding a share of the revenue from the sale of product that their licensed equipment creates? GERS isn't paying for the raw materials, the labor, or the other expenses of the ethanol plants. They should be either getting a one time or flat annual licensing fee. Instead, they are buried in legal debt because the manufacturers didn't want to pay their royalty bullshit. MAYBE they'll eventually come out on top, but in any case I will think they are a lame company.

It reminds me of Apple taking a lion's share of software sales from the AppStore with no justification for that at all. When Apple tried to do that in the late 1980s and 1990s with their software development licensing, they failed miserably and that's why Microsoft owns the business computing world. Same thing with VHS vs. BetaMax.
