I don't know if this has been discussed before but..
In the comments section of The Progressive's article user_juggernaut_ seems to assume that weekly effective dose of kevetrin in humans would be 700mg/kg. This would amount to 42grams in a 60kg human, which would appear as an awfully high amount. However, the dose correlation between species is not that straightforward. Instead body surface area BSA is commonly used to convert doses. This means that 700mg/kg in mice becomes 57mg/kg in humans, and in a 60kg person weekly dose would be 3.4grams. A much more manageable dose.
