Compare this 2,750 SAP score of 32-way Itanium II with 4,500 score of hp AlphaServer Model GS 1280, 32-way SMP, Alpha 21364C (EV7) 1150 MHz, 1835 KB L2 cache.

As Opteron is borrowing a lot from EV7 and is made by the same people, you can expect 32-way Opteron to deliver very similar numbers. Whatever, that's not a surprise, Itanium II can't compete with Opteron on speed, maybe Madison will. Maybe not.
