You are, of course, 100% right. That is why I say it is a religion to them. It is the filter that everything goes through. When you set up a filter, you see the existance of everything you want to see because you see them in that light. You don't have to understand how the issues are related - only that they exist (in one's mind). And, if they exist (in one's mind), they "prove" to that person that they are right about...... something.
