There will be PD patients lining the halls of hospitals and clinics praying to get this treatment if and when it reaches commercialization. Lots of dollars to be made by everyone involved in the process.
There will always be plenty of other diseases and ailments to fill the time and coffers of the medical industry. Hopefully, with PD out of the way, the time and money spent on therapy and treatments can be applied toward those patients who have yet to find a cure.
It sounds like you're applying the old "oil company buys the rights to the 100 mpg engine and shelves it" theory to the medical industry. I would hope human beings haven't stooped so low as to intentionally try to shelve a curative treatment for a neurological disorder that ultimately brings the patient to a state of total disability, just so they can profit from the continued suffering of the patient. Is that really how our world works?
