You're in good company..... From what I've been reading, a lot of people got burned, including myself. This was my first (and last) SMA play. I learned an expensive lesson though, set stop losses right away. It's not always a guarantee that the stop loss will work (it could get skipped over) but at least you have a better shot at getting out if the stock starts tanking fast. It worked beautifully for me yesterday when HIDC tanked late afternoon.
