Question for anyone who may know. Are the trials conducted done in conjunction with any other therapy? How is it controlled?

Meaning, if progression is stopped, can they finish it off with radiation an chemo?

So often tumors will shrink and then come back worse then before. Some if it is even DNA and other issues making it difficult to control for. Is it considered as an adjunct therapy. Sorry for the questions but I have been trying to figure out some things.
