"Plus, if you don't like someone, you aren't being forced to post there."

Hmmmm.....I may save this one for later.

>>It's his/her thread. Let them create/destroy it.
As Lisa has pointed out, the reality of a thread environment can be obfuscated by the strategic deletion of posts. So when a COB does not apply the stated rules for the thread equitably or violates them him/herself, the poster has no way of knowing what they are getting themselves into.

I always felt that SI should have had a mandatory listing of people who had been banned from a moderated thread so that one would know what they were getting into.

I agree that private, non-stock threads should have a right to freely associate with who they want and the "if you don't like it, don't post there" rule may apply. However, for stock threads and commercial ventures. I do not think that this same rule should apply.

I see the commercial ventures here similarly as to how celebrities and the press are viewed. Since the commercial ventures are here to solicit money from your membership, the membership has every right to be critical of their actions. And if the commercial venture steps out of line...they are held to a higher standard than a normal member. Same as with a COB. COBs are the cops, the cops have to be held to a stricter interpretation of the rules and if they violate them, the reprecussions have to be more severe.

I know who is here to destroy and who is here to help.

When I first started posting on the SEVU thread, did you think I was here to destroy or to help?
