Lots of good SLR doobies out there, no doubt about it.

The Casio z750 was never recommended to compete with same: it was recommended as a pocketable walkaround -- something slim & compact you could always have on your person that takes surprisingly good pictures and even passable emergency videos when you don't want to lug around a bag full of lenses and other gear, or risk dropping same in the brink. Or have the latter already packed away, etc.

I just got back from the Bahamas and I took the Casio places where I wouldn't have dared risk more expensive equipment and/or didn't want the burden of lugging the latter along.
