This is true. I was born in the early 60s. Don't get me wrong....as a teenager I smoked a joint here and there. But you have to realize the times and the penalties that were imposed just for having pot on you at one point. Just to be associated with someone who smoked pot you could get jail time if the law wanted to push it and say you knew and did nothing. People lost their houses, all of their items were confiscated, they lost their children, and did jail time. All for freak'n weed. Many innocent people were in jail and the jails were overcrowded. It was a war on drugs. I never opposed marijuana for medical use...even in those days as it had many benefits to help someone who was sick. Things are much different these days. They really are. The laws were over the top and many weren't going to lose their children. Weed has always been around and I know many people who smoked it all the time. I just wasn't willing to lose my children over it. It wasn't worth it to me. I live in PA and it is still illegal here. I don't see that being forever. When California legalized MJ for medical use we knew it was a turn in history.
