Look at the Opteron datasheet. The memory interface draws a
maximum of 2.9A at 2.65V for DDR400. That is 7.7W absolute
peak power,. Realistic worst case thermal (i.e. sustained)
power is probably on the order of 5 or 6 W.

I think you need to count HT interface and memory controller (not just DRAM interface). The total is probably in 10W range.
