Where are all those 100's million shares?

People have been saying that like 300 to 400 million shares have been issued and sold this past year so where are they now? Whoever is holding them apparently is not interested in selling any of them at these ridiculous prices, not a single trade in the opening first hour. All that previous volume was just short selling MM making smoke.
